Artist Note: With so many beautiful variations of color in butterflies, I never know what color I am going to paint them until I begin. I do favor the blues and greens when I paint, and think this piece turned out quite nicely. I will often paint abstracts, but after studying photos of beautiful butterflies, I couldn't help but notice, they have such interesting and sometimes intricate color details running throughout their wings. Truly fascinating! I only wish photos would do this painting justice because it is a painting with rich deep blue tones complimented with bright color accents to give it the feel of beauty, making it a timeless piece of art that one can enjoy always.
