THE ARTIST
My name is Kimberly Sumerel and I am the artist who creates the beautiful art designs for all the products you will see here at THE PAINTED LABEL.
With a professional creative arts and fashion background and over 30 years experience in an always changing and competitive industry, I wanted to create and share my original art designs by offering art inspired fashion and home decor products from the paintings I create, in addition to sharing a large collection of lovely art prints.
BEGINNINGS
THE PAINTED LABEL was created way before the name. It is a style, a feeling, an emotion, and a part of me where creativity and imagination are coupled to produce beautiful works of art that are transformed into lovely products.
I have been exhibiting my work for many years, and in 2014, premiered some of my fashion bags as a collaborative effort with AEROBLEND Airbrush Makeup at the Premiere Beauty show in Orlando, in an effort to produce trendy fashion art inspired accessories for customers. When the opportunity presented itself for me to create a colorful fashion cosmetic clutch bag to be featured along side one of the top air brush make up companies in the U.S., I naturally said, "Yes!" Being able to test market my products in front of thousands and receiving rave reviews was all I needed to further the growth of a very exciting creative venture for me.
THE DESIGN
Before any product can be created, an image has to be created. I primarily paint my original designs on canvas, but have been known to paint on just about anything that will take paint! I create and paint using a variety of different art mediums such as watercolor, acrylics and colored pencils. I love floral designs, coastal themes and find such beauty in the color of butterflies, but really enjoy painting whatever inspires me at that time.
COMMISSION
I will be happy to discuss creating a custom design for your next creative project no matter how large or small. Each project is individualized and length of time to complete varies depending on the size and detail of the work. Upon contacting me with your request and an agreement is reached on specifics of the work, I will ask for a non refundable design fee of $100. A contract will be given to you stating the work to be done, cost, and any other applicable fees. Any projects over $250 will require a down payment of 1/2 the cost prior to the start of the project.
